Proof of Play

A verifiable log that a specific piece of content played on a specific screen at a specific time — essential for retail media and advertising contracts.

Proof of play is how networks bill advertisers and how operators verify SLAs. Spot records each playback as an impression with player, ad zone and timestamp. Plays that happen while a player is offline are queued locally on the device and flushed back to the server when the network returns, so no impressions are lost.
